Latest News April 2020

Dear all,

As the world is holding its breath and tries to survive this horrible Corona crisis, it has become important for many people to keep a daily rhythm and grow sufficient discipline to cope with the change of lifestyle. I have taken the time to finish my new book, which will hopefully be published any time now and made available on Amazon.

In April and May, the new show on History Channel, "The Lost Relics of the Knights Templar", will be aired. The first episode premiered in the UK on 13th and will be aired in Scandinavia, Holland, Belgium and Ireland a few days later. As you may already know, I am also in it, in episode 4, mountaingoating the two British gentlemen through the rocky mountains of the Sabarthès to the caves of Ornolac.

Episode 4 was shot in September 2019. On the right-hand side you can see me with Hamilton and Carl posing in the Bethlehem Cave, where Otto Rahn often came, also to meditate.

But, first things first: my new book.

THE RINGING ROCKS OF ATLANTIS

The third and last book of the Time Travel Trilogy is now ready for publication. The Kindle version will be out first for a very low price as a gift to my readers, for at this moment we are all going through harsh times. It is important to take one's mind off and read more books. I have spent a long time researching the subject before I was ready to write the story. Therefore, many historical facts have been used throughout the book, facts that might change your mind about European history and consequently that of the entire western world.

I would like to share some of the reviews I received from various people after reading the manuscript.

"This one is a delightful mix of past and present, along with real and imagined. It’s a story that demonstrates, all so clearly, what I have said for a long time. History matters." ~ New York Times bestselling author Steve Berry

"Jeanne D’Août skillfully weaves a tasty tale of suspense and esoteric intrigue. Time travel - and its consequences, ancient Celts, Atlantis, and the legendary relic hunter Otto Rahn; it’s all here, served up with a sumptuous measure of veiled historical truths. Some say truth may be stranger than fiction, but what if the so-called fiction is actually true? Fans of Dan Brown, and enthusiasts of historical mysteries, strap yourself in and enjoy the ride." ~ Andrew Gough, writer and television history and mystery show presenter

"A magnificent story – but even more than a story, for it contains a theory of world history that is both intriguing and enlightening. Jeanne D’Août is no less a thinker than a storyteller. Her tale has us winging through history and geography, and takes a lot of putting down once you start it. This third volume unfolds a new set of adventures around time travel, but has a serious message. As we swing between the ancient world and present-day Switzerland, an extraordinary myth comes to life. We and our past have the deepest reverberations and connections, and knowing the past can heal us." ~ Dr Colum Hayward, Polaire Publishing

"It is a great tale - intriguing and provocative. It delves deep into human relationships, the history that underlies Western perspective and provides a way that technology will change our experience and our view of our existence. It is like going through a door into a hidden room where secrets are uncovered but where the real secrets are held in another room, beyond the first." ~ Greg Rigby, author of ‘The God Secret’ and ‘On Earth as it is in Heaven’

As soon as the book is available on Amazon, I will enter the direct link to the Kindle version here.

THE LOST RELICS OF THE KNIGHTS TEMPLAR

It all started last Summer, when I was asked to be one of the experts in a new show about the Templars; a show that would be aired on History Channel. Of course I said yes. Every opportunity I have to promote this amazing corner of the world where I live, I will take. Occitania, also known as 'Cathar Country', is a region in the south of France, a place with forgotten history and unsolved mysteries. Much needs to be shared to fully comprehend elements of our common history that have been hidden or erased by the victors.

Hamilton and Carl are trying to find out in this new series what the Templars were all about. Having found a Templar hoard, Hamilton hopes to find out what these objects mean, what they were used for, and to better understand this mysterious Knights of Christ, who fought 800 years ago in the Crusades to secure Jerusalem and its access for the Christian world. This mysterious Order has made today's scholars wonder what they stood for, because they were different from the other Crusaders. They had their own agenda, and within a few decades they became the richest Order in Christianity. It is obvious that they wanted more than just Jerusalem. They may have wanted to create a whole new world order.

Out now on Kindle: THE EYE OF RA eBook!

“In The Eye of Ra, Jeanne D'Août cleverly uses fiction to bring alive ancient Egypt and its magic. A most entertaining and fun book to read!” - Robert Bauval, author of The Orion Mystery

From today, June 7th 2016, the long awaited eBook edition of THE EYE OF RA, the sequel of WHITE LIE, THE QUEST FOR THE FORBIDDEN RELIC, is now available on Amazon Kindle. All the direct links are available in the menu on this webpage: www.jeannedaout.com/eyeofra.html.

Tim Wallace-Murphy, Writer, TV Personality and Lecturer commented:
“A real page-turner, great plot, fast moving and a fun read!”

“The Eye of Ra is a brilliant new esoteric thriller that captivates the reader from the start. Intelligent, well-informed and absorbing, it propels you on a dangerous quest to Akhenaten’s Egypt. If you are a fan of Dan Brown or Umberto Eco, then strap yourself in for a wild ride through ancient lands, intrigue and Egyptian magic. I highly recommend it.” - Andrew Gough, presenter of historical documentaries and Editor-in-Chief of the Heretic Magazine

SYNOPSIS
It all starts with a ring, inlaid with a seemingly insignificant black stone. Discovered on its own by the famous archaeologist Flinders Petrie, the stone had not been recognized for what it was, for up until the fall of Jerusalem in the 6th century BCE it had always been one of a pair. As a pair, these stones had been used for divination in Biblical times. Together they are known as the Urim and Thummim.

Determined to find the highly valued, lost stone and bring the separated pair together once again, a powerful secret order sends a team of intrepid researchers back in time to the era of the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten, only to discover a much greater enigma.

The Forbidden Relic eBook - Out now!

PRESS RELEASE - March 22nd, 2016

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR STEVE BERRY commented:
“This story resonates with spirit and history, seamlessly blending myth with reality into a chilling and foreboding read."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE FORBIDDEN RELIC by Jeanne D’Août
Historical thriller novel

What if two young women of today, with no family ties to miss them, were sent off as covert time travelers to find out if the Crucifixion is fact or fiction? Would they survive? Would they come back? Would they change history? Would history change them?

THE FORBIDDEN RELIC is a just-published novel about finding the true Holy Grail by nom de plume JEANNE D’AOUT. Jeanne weaves impeccable historical research with fantasy/action/adventure, spanning two millenniums.

She raises some powerful thought processes.
Would we try to change history if we could, no matter the outcome?

Wormholes forming hypothetical shortcuts through time are part of the suspension of belief Jeanne asks her readers to accept, in order to explore the depths and consequences of human behavior.

Fascinated by unraveling mysteries at a young age, Jeanne D’Août settled in a mysterious part of southern France: where the Knights Templar of the Middle Ages may have hidden forbidden relics. Here, she got to know author Henry Lincoln, the man whose work inspired Dan Brown to write the Da Vinci Code. As a regional expert, she has happened upon some incredible clues that lead to her discoveries revealed in THE FORBIDDEN RELIC.

THE FORBIDDEN RELIC continues where the Da Vinci Code stops short.

ANDREW GOUGH, presenter of historical documentaries, Editor-in-Chief of The Heretic Magazine says: “The Forbidden Relic reveals more shocking truths than any book since The Da Vinci Code, including the identity of the real Indiana Jones. It would not surprise if it was adapted for the big screen soon."

PATRICK BERNAUW, a Belgian historical mystery writer, adds: “The Forbidden Relic is a historical mystery novel, reminding us of Dan Brown and his The Da Vinci Code. But what makes the book special, is the original and fascinating mix of historical mystery, true treasure hunt and science-fiction themes, such as time travel. And a superb blend of facts and (adventure) fiction."

While the new eBook is expected to be launched in March, 2016, the latest paperback version is already online on AMAZON (White Lie - The Quest for the Forbidden Relic).

New York Times bestselling author Steve Berry
on White Lie: The Quest for the Forbidden Relic:

"This story resonates with spirit and history,
seamlessly blending myth with reality into
a chilling and foreboding read."

With Steve Berry in Rennes-le-Chateau, France

Synopsis:
There are secret underground compounds where highly specialised scientists, physicists and professors develop secret technology for unknown employers. In 2011, Professor William Fairfax succeeded in creating a stable wormhole, through which people could travel back in time. Unable to predict the miraculous events that were about to transpire, Dr Danielle Parker and Dr Gabby Standford excitedly travel back to the first century, where they discover the amazing story of Oshu, the real Jesus.

This incredible adventure back in time results in the terrifying abduction of time-traveller Danielle. For Danielle's freedom, the kidnapper demands one of the most intriguing historical artefacts known to the world. To find it, the team has to follow the old trail of the Knights Templar that leads them to Cathar Country in southern France.

The team is accompanied by a mysterious German relic hunter, whom had already been brought from the 1930s to the present: SS-Obersturmführer Otto Rahn. Though Rahn is assigned to assist the team in southern France, he carries with him a heavy, dark secret. In constant fear of being forced to return to 1939, he decides to follow his own agenda.

Season's Greetings and latest news

What a year this has been, starting with the release of the new, completely revised 3rd edition of White Lie in January and my second book The Eye of Ra in February. I've done interviews for several radio shows and over the Spring, Summer and Autumn I was a tour guide for hundreds of people from around the world. I also started writing the first 2 chapters of a new book, planning to complete the story this Winter.

However, on November 21st my darling mother passed away and I had to go to Holland, where I arrived just on time to be with her during her last few days. We are all heartbroken and it will take some time to heal. Also, my 'normal' day job in tourism here in Cathar Country already starts at the end of March 2016. Therefore, this third book of my 'time travel trilogy' won't be published until 2017.

Of course I am still researching and plotting, excited about the subject of my new book, very happy with the first 2 chapters and eager to continue when I get the chance. I have also come up with a new title, which will be revealed soon. However, realistically, I won't be able to finish the story and have it edited within the next 12 months. It needs my full attention and must not be rushed.

Plans for 2016
Following the advice of a New York Times bestselling author Steve Berry and his wife Liz (ITW), I decided to release my books on E-book after all, so this Winter I will release both White Lie and The Eye of Ra on Kindle. In January I will be working on the formatting, hoping to have the books online and available before the Spring season starts. I am also looking forward to a future interview for the ITW magazine "The Big Thrill".

What Steve Berry wrote about 'White Lie':
"This story resonates with spirit and history, seamlessly blending myth with reality into a chilling and foreboding read."
Thank you Steve!

The new paperback version is now online, so make sure you don't buy second hand copies if you want to order the paperback edition. Personalized, autographed bookplates are available on request.

From 6th January onward I will be available for interviews and guided tours through Cathar Country, France. More info and contact details are on my website:

As an official tour guide (guide accompagnateur) in Occitania, Jeanne knows the paths, the unknown places, the stories behind the stories and can explain the underlying history of this turbulent region, that plays such a significant role in her first book, "White Lie".
"I've fallen in love with this land, not just for its incredible history and stunning landscapes, but also because it contains in its sites and power places all the tools I need to explain the deeper layers of ancient knowledge and mystic wisdom, the esoteric basis of Gnosis, the story of the Cathars and Knights Templar and the real cause of the religious conflicts in the Middle Ages that led to the Albigensian Crusades. From Occitania, with love...

My new book, The Eye of Ra, is now finished and the editing process is nearly done. I'm very excited, as in a few weeks' time I will be able to share it with the world. It is a story not only about forgotten history, adventure and suspense; it is also about the early years of the Egyptian Mystery School teachings (Hermetic Teachings) and some of its ancient, though timeless, wisdom. Find out what happens to Danielle and which other characters have stayed in this sequel of my first book, White Lie.

More info: See The Eye of Ra Press Page

Especially for press and promotional purposes, a final draft of The Eye of Ra is now available and can be requested by e-mail (books@jeannedaout.com).

Group tours
As you may already know, I have done several tours here in Occitania, France, exploring the historical sites and natural beauty of this special corner of the world. I would love to share with you some of the photos I have taken in the last few months.

The Lure of the Languedoc
This special group tour which I have hosted together with a dear friend and fellow author, Tim Wallace-Murphy, was a big success and a delight. We explored history from Cro-Magnon to present, starting of course in Tarascon-sur-Ariège, in the Prehistoric Museum and the Bedeilhac cave.

After a visit to the lovely port of Collioure (below), which I have described both in White Lie as well as in The Eye of Ra, we explored hidden symbolism in the cloister of Elne Abbey.

Also the abbey ruins of Alet-les-Bains are beautiful and mysterious...

St Michel de Cuixa near Prades is also full of ancient Christian symbols of forgotten days. Symbols that speak of a different knowledge, the esoteric knowledge of the initiated.

Co-hosting
On September 18th I was the local guide for William Henry's group in Alet-les-Bains and Rennes-le-Chateau, which was a wonderful experience and a great joy to meet such lovely people.

With one of the members of another lovely group at Montségur.

In the footsteps of Otto Rahn in Ornolac, with yet another group.

It was also a pleasure and a privilege to share the local history and mystery during a 5-day tour across Occitania with a very large group of 70 people from the US. Below you can see a few photos from our journey.

The Galamus Gorge, on our way to the Hermitage.

One misty morning, taken from the guide seat in the bus.

The Medieval Castle in Collioure, the HQ of the Knights Templar order in the late 12th century.

A few days of rest
Naturally, after being away so much, our cat Babar was overjoyed when I was home again. I took him on an outing on our little island in the river, where he climbed trees, went on an expedition and then cuddled up against me, purring loudly and making it very clear that he was very, very happy... ;-)

Being in the final stages of the editing process, it will still be several weeks before the book will be available. I will keep you posted!

From Occitania, with love,

Busy busy!

These months have been very busy indeed! I've done many tours through Occitania with readers and several celebs, and have also been able to do some writing. I'm now at chapter 18, more or less halfway through the book.

Here's a sneak preview of the cover of my new book, the sequel to White Lie, which is called "The Eye of Ra".

New radio interview
Also check out my latest radio interview for 'Revelation', a show hosted by author/researcher William Henry.

www.unknowncountry.com/revelations/worlds-biggest-secret

With William Henry at the Ducs de Joyeuse in Couiza.

Special people
There are still those people who, in spite of their busy life, still make time to fight for good causes. Joseph Corré and his mother, Dame Vivienne Westwood, are both running two different fashion empires. Both are extremely busy, but they always make time to fight against the pollution of our planet and not just by giving money. Joe, for instance, is a social activist. They have my respect. And last month I had the honor of being the private guide to Joe and his uncle Stuart, the brother of the late Malcolm McLaren.

Joe with yours truly on top of Montségur, 17th May 2014.

Still going strong
For some reason, people have been checking me out by the masses. So as a consequence my star rate has gone up with an amazing 1.232.405 places! Very cool. ;-)!

This Summer I will hopefully finish my book, so I will keep you all posted! Have a wonderful Summer everyone! xox

Updates March 2014

Spring has come early to Occitania and these past few months have been busy indeed! I have written 8 chapters for the sequel and am very excited so far. The subjects are connected with an ancient Egyptian mystery. The book now also has a new title, which I will share with you in due course.

I am also excited to announce that I will be doing a unique group tour with author Tim Wallace-Murphy in September this year, called "The Lure of the Languedoc". Link: http://thelureofthelanguedoc.blogspot.com ~ Join us if you can! :)

From left to right: Cyndi, Tim and myself in Mirepoix, fine-tuning the itinerary for the group tour.

A bit of Da Vinci Code on this photo below: Tim Wallace-Murphy, the real Grail expert (played by Ian McKellen in the movie), Henry Lincoln (center), the author of 'Holy Blood Holy Grail' which inspired Dan Brown, and Cyndi (Tim's darling wife), during our get-together in Rennes-le-Chateau, March 8, 2014.

With Babar...

Will be back with more news soon, so keep on watching this space! :)

Latest News, November 2013

I'm excited to announce that White Lie will not just get a sequel. While researching forgotten history and unsolved mysteries, I found so much inspiration and amazing historical material, that I have decided to create a trilogy. ;-)

I will keep you posted!

Never a dull moment...

It is amazing how so many people came over to Occitania this year and hired me as their private guide. Among them were people who are specialists in certain fields, and who could confirm several details of my research which I used for "White Lie". There were also several celebrities, e.g. Jeopardy show host Alex Trebek and his amazing wife Jean, and singer/songwriter/producer Corjan (photos below).

Jean and Alex Trebek in Rennes-les-Bains, July 2013

Corjan de Raaf and I, October 2013

Starting up the White Lie movie project takes a lot longer than I expected, but we're working on it. Below you can see the promo poster. It will be interesting to see how this project, which seems to have a life of its own, will develop. For instance, who will play the man on the right, Otto Rahn? Only time will tell. ;)

I don't know how many times I have been standing on top of Montségur castle, one of the locations from the book. Here I am standing on the outer wall of one of the Cathar houses. What an amazing place this is...

As I have been taking so many people to the amazing sites here in Occitania, I was able to take some really good photos when I had a moment. Among several others which were taken by clients, I would also like to share some of my favorite photos below. It is an incredible place, this realm of Oc.

Inside the tower of St. Michael in Alet-les-Bains.

The sunflowers of Coustaussa are beautiful both in flower and in seed.

Collioure

The magical square with the head at the Galamus hermitage.

At our home in the woodland garden.

At the African reserve near Sigean/Narbonne. I never dreamed of being so close to wild lions and have the courage to open my window...

Queribus castle in the late October afternoon sun with dramatic clouds behind it. An incredible atmosphere!

The biggest walled medieval town in Europe, Carcassonne, with its 52 towers, never bores me, no matter how many times I visit.

Finding old Greek inscriptions in the ruins of the old monastery at Alet-les-Bains.

It's always nice when the locals start to trust you with their only key to an ancient church.

With a very honored and loved visitor, author/speaker Tim Wallace-Murphy. Our cat Babar immediately liked him. ;-)

It's always fantastic when animals let you come so close and still dare to keep their eyes closed. The French Mediterranean coast of the Camarque and the Roussillon are famous for its many flamingoes that come in from Africa.

Last but not least, an amazing detail in the windows at the St. Nazaire basilica in Carcassonne. Mary is given to Zachariah by her parents. ;-)

Keep on watching this space! I will be back with more news a.s.a.p.

From Occitania, with love... ;-)
